Victorian Drain Interceptor Removal 5/5
“From estimate to completion of the work was a quick and very impressive service. The work involved the removal of an old drain interceptor, repairs to the inspection chamber and the fitting of a new manhole cover and frame. This was all carried out in a quick and very professional manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending DPDS and would certainly use them again myself if the need arose.”

Removal of interceptor and replacement with straight pipe. No damage to driveway. 5/5
“Very pleased. Only took 2hours. No need to dig up drive and disturb tarmac etc. Straight pipe is fitted into female clay collar that remains on straight pipe after the interceptor and is mortared into this so no need to heed the advice of traditional drainage contractors.”

Interceptor Removal 5/5
“Fantastic job. Poor chap spent about 1 hour upside-down head first in a 18 by 18in manhole to dig out the old interceptor, this unusual technique probably saved us over £1000 as it avoided excavation and diggers etc. Job well done!.”

Drain Interceptor Removal and CCTV Drain Survey 5/5
"Absolutely superb service from start to finish removing our old Victorian interceptor trap that kept blocking. After filling out the web site enquiry form I had a call back within 20 minutes from Romy and after sending some site photos, I had a quote within a couple of hours. Excellent communication throughout the process and very reassuring clearly explaining what happens. Work was done quickly and efficiently within a few hours just using hand tools, and the area was left clean and tidy. Process was topped off with a CCTV survey to check everything. Very competitively priced. I hope my rodding poles never see the light of day again but I just wish I had had this work done years ago. Really cannot recommend this company highly enough."

A drain interceptor is basically a trap, similar to the U-bend you have on your WC. There are different theories why interceptors have been installed in the past, one is that it would prevent foul air and also rodents from leaving the sewer systems, however nowadays these traps cause more and more problems. May it be that hygiene articles get stuck frequently, or the trap itself has just become old and fractured in places or roots have intruded over time.
Works to replace an interceptor will be carried out from within the chamber, this means for us to carry out a confined space entry. We will break out the existing interceptor trap completely and replace it with a straight piece of UPVC pipe work. Once this is complete we will re-build the chamber wall and any damage caused and also re-bench around the drain channel for optimum performance. The system will then be flushed through and a brief survey carried out to ensure all is ok.
